@titosvodka recently commissioned me to create a portrait to memorialize one of the stray dogs (named "Lily") that hang around their distillery in Austin, Texas.
Tito's Vodka team has rescued over 100 stray dogs in the past 25 years, and is a huge part of the Austin based company's story. They have developed a program called @vodkafordogpeople where they embrace, feed, inoculate, and even adopt.
The stray dogs are affectionately referred to as "distillery dogs".
This portrait, along with a few other selected artists work will be on display, traveling from Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, New York, and other cities in the US.
Additionally, Tito's Vodka will be generously donating $5,000 to the artists' animal non-profit of their choosing. I chose #safehandsrescue. This is the non-profit dog rescue organization where we adopted the best dog I have ever known. Our wonderful "Dottie".
I'm am so grateful that Tito's Vodka has given me the opportunity to create a portrait of this magnificent dog, "Lily".
